We are recruiting for our client, a Romanian construction company with over 20 years of experience in civil and industrial construction projects, renovations, maintenance and general construction works.

The company is in a phase of development and professionalisation of its technical and operational functions, and for the tendering team we are looking for a Tender Engineer with experience in civil and industrial construction projects.

About the role

The role involves preparing cost estimates and technical-financial offers for the company's projects, starting from the technical documentation, execution drawings and client requirements.

You will analyse projects, calculate work quantities, build the cost estimates and contribute to the most accurate possible estimation of execution costs. The position involves direct collaboration with the technical teams, project managers, procurement, suppliers and subcontractors.

What you will do

→Analyse the technical documentation and drawings for construction projects
→Carry out take-offs and calculate work quantities based on the technical designs
→Prepare cost estimates by work category, by object, and bills of quantities
→Prepare the technical-financial offers for the projects the company bids on
→Analyse the costs of materials, labour, machinery and subcontractors
→Request and compare price offers from suppliers and subcontractors
→Update cost estimates according to design changes, quantities or prices
→Contribute to preparing progress statements and the related project documentation
→Track the differences between estimated and actual execution costs and flag any deviations
→Collaborate with the design, procurement and execution teams to clarify technical and commercial aspects

Who we are looking for

→You have 3-5 years of experience in tendering and/or cost estimating for construction projects
→You have relevant experience in civil and/or industrial construction
→You have hands-on experience with take-offs, quantity calculations and preparing cost estimates
→You can read and interpret drawings, technical designs and execution documentation
→You understand the cost structure of a construction project: materials, labour, machinery and subcontracting
→You have worked with estimating software such as Deviz Expert, EconGraph, WinDev or similar solutions
→You have good Excel skills
→You know the Romanian cost-norm system and how to apply it
→You are attentive to detail and can work to clear deadlines

The experience we are looking for is in civil and industrial construction. Experience exclusively in road infrastructure, roads or bridges is not relevant for this role.
